Gov. Greg Abbott’s office noted that a majority of the drivers detained were holding commercial driver licenses issued by California. None of the drivers was holding a Texas CDL.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro's administration said the federal government didn't identify a single CDL issued to someone who wasn't eligible.

"We won’t stop fighting to keep dangerous, unqualified truck drivers off the road," Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said in a post on X. 

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit granted an emergency stay, saying the petitioners met the “stringent requirements for a stay pending court review.”
