U.S. Class 8 retail sales in April were flat compared with a year earlier, coming in at just over 19,000, but continued the  improvement from the lows in the beginning of the year, Wards Intelligence reported.

Preliminary North American Class 8 orders in February came in at 21,000, or essentially even with January’s volume, but were less than half of what fleets ordered a year earlier, ACT Research reported, citing truck makers’ initial data.

Class 8 U.S. retail sales in January slipped below 15,000, an 11.8% decline compared with a year earlier, Wards Intelligence reported.

Class 8 U.S. retail sales in October fell nearly 10% compared with a year ago as three truck brands grew sales while four could not, WardsAuto .com reported.

U.S. Class 8 retail sales fell 10.4% to 17,131 in September, WardsAuto.com reported.

The year-over-year average price of a used Class 8 vehicle fell for the 13th consecutive month in May. Sales at retail outlets held up, while inventories headed down because there was no deluge of equipment flooding the market as a casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic, ACT Research reported.
