U.S. Class 8 retail sales in September were nearly 23,000 and reached the second-highest total this year, Wards Intelligence reported.

Class 8 U.S. retail sales in August reached their high point for the year, clearing 23,000 for a 29.7% increase compared with a year earlier, Wards Intelligence reported.

U.S. Class 8 retail sales in June were the highest of the year and improved 12.7% compared with the previous June, Wards Intelligence reported.

U.S. Class 8 retail sales in April were flat compared with a year earlier, coming in at just over 19,000, but continued the  improvement from the lows in the beginning of the year, Wards Intelligence reported.

Preliminary North American Class 8 orders in February came in at 21,000, or essentially even with January’s volume, but were less than half of what fleets ordered a year earlier, ACT Research reported, citing truck makers’ initial data.

Class 8 U.S. retail sales in January slipped below 15,000, an 11.8% decline compared with a year earlier, Wards Intelligence reported.

Class 8 U.S. retail sales in October fell nearly 10% compared with a year ago as three truck brands grew sales while four could not, WardsAuto .com reported.

U.S. Class 8 retail sales fell 10.4% to 17,131 in September, WardsAuto.com reported.

U.S. Class 8 retail sales in March jumped 33.7% to 22,031 as all truck makers posted gains compared with a year earlier, WardsAuto.com reported.

Foreign producers of semiconductors, electric car batteries and pharmaceuticals will continue to squeeze U.S. manufacturing unless Congress provides more incentives for domestic production, representatives from Intel Corp. and Ford Motor Co. said March 16.
