Kroger could close some existing automated warehouses to cut costs. Britain’s Ocado has been selling automated warehouse technology to power online grocery shopping since 2000.

The integration will allow companies to source inventory across warehouses and stores within a local area and choose modes and carriers based on cost and delivery status in real time.

Earlier in 2025, Lineage also expanded its operations in Arizona, Illinois, Kansas, Pennsylvania and Washington state, as well as in Australia, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway.
