International Motors sold 16,900 trucks and buses in the first quarter of 2025, a 12% decrease compared with 19,300 vehicles in the same period 12 months earlier.

Volkswagen AG raised about $393 million through the sale of a 2.2% stake in Traton SE.

International Motors parent company Traton Group will build vehicle software platforms with Mountain View, Calif.-headquartered software group Applied Intuition, the companies said.

Traton’s profits rose in Q2 2024 as higher prices and South American demand trumped a slump in truck sales for Navistar’s International Trucks brand due to a shortage of mirrors.

Navistar truck and bus sales in the second quarter of 2024 slumped 31% year-over-year, partly as a result of a shortage of truck mirrors, parent company Traton said July 10.

Volkswagen AG is exploring the sale of as much as $1.1 billion of stock in Traton SE, taking advantage of the truck maker’s surging price to increase the number of shares available for trading.
