Statistics Canada said it will not publish October trade data as was scheduled on Dec. 4. The agency had previously confirmed September numbers would be postponed.

The Labor Department said it will not release a full jobs report for October because the government shutdown meant it couldn't calculate the unemployment rate and some other key numbers.

The Federal Aviation Administration said Nov. 16 it is lifting all restrictions on commercial flights that were imposed at 40 major airports during the country's longest government shutdown.

Though airlines say they expect normal operations to resume within three or four days after the order is lifted, some have suggested that problems might linger longer than that.

The record 43-day shutdown caused financial stress for federal workers who went without paychecks, stranded scores of travelers at airports and generated long lines at some food banks.

Flight reductions will not rise to 10% by the end of the week because more air traffic controllers are coming to work as the government shutdown ends.

Economists have flagged the consumer price index and unemployment rate for October as those most likely at risk of not coming out due to how the data underpinning them is collected.

The Transportation Department and the FAA have said they relied on data, including reports from pilots of controller responsiveness, to make the decision to reduce flights.

The House has not been in legislative session since Sept. 19. That's when it passed a short-term funding patch to keep the government open when the new budget year began in October.
