Bridgestone will increase prices up to 15% on tread, cushion and some ancillary items from its subsidiary Bandag Inc., the tire company announced July 1.

Bridgestone Americas announced the launch of a new drive tire tread that is engineered to increase retread value for fleets.

Tire company Bridgestone and Einride, which develops electric and autonomous freight mobility solutions, formed a partnership designed to create sustainable mobility solutions for electrified and autonomous Class 8 trucks.

Bridgestone Americas broke ground on a $51 million expansion to its air springs production facility in Williamsburg, Ky., the company said recently. 

Einride plans to expand its range of podlike self-driving trucks and launch a pilot program in the U.S. with tire manufacturer Bridgestone.

Bridgestone Americas announced plans to restart its North American commercial tire plants as well as its North American Firestone industrial products and Firestone building products manufacturing facilities April 13.

Leading tire makers serving the North American commercial vehicle market reported, separately, they have paused production, while warehouse and distribution operations continue. All manufacturers cited the COVID-19 crisis and a steep decline in demand.
