Truck imports that qualify for relief under the U.S.-Canada-Mexico trade agreement will be exempt from the charges, but not buses, according to the fact sheet.

Gothenburg, Sweden-based Volvo Group — parent company of Volvo Trucks North America and Mack Trucks — sold 9,622 trucks in North America, compared with 12,026 a year earlier.

GM agreed in 2022 to buy nickel supplies from Brazilian miner Vale as part of a strategy to build up its battery supply chain for EVs, but the pause has meant cancellation of the project.
