Eastern freight railroad CSX Corp.’s intermodal unit plans to invest about $8 million to expand its Charlotte, N.C., terminal, the company said Wednesday.

FedEx Corp. said Monday it has integrated its 2006 acquisition of Watkins Motor Lines into its less-than-truckload network in the United States and Canada.

Freight forwarder Target Logistics’ fiscal second-quarter profit fell to $590,000 or 3 cents a share, from $976,000 or 5 cents in the previous second quarter.
