P.A.M. Transportation Services said it lost $315,000 in the first quarter, compared with a  $3.3 million loss a year ago.

Truckload carrier Knight Transportation said its first-quarter profit rose 5.1% to $12.3 million, or 15 cents a share, from $11.7 million, or 14 cents, a year ago.
