LAS VEGAS — Accelera by Cummins launched its next generation of decarbonizing technologies at Advanced Clean Transportation Expo 2024.

Kenworth plans to begin production of its Class 8 T680 tractor and T880 vocational truck with Cummins’ X15N natural gas engine in the third quarter of 2024, it said May 15.

Engine manufacturer Cummins Inc. said its first-quarter bottom line was lifted by the March completion of its divestiture from filtration business Atmus.

Cummins Inc. plans to distribute its remaining stakes in Atmus Filtration Technologies about a year after carving out the unit in an initial public offering.

NEW ORLEANS — Hexagon Agility plans to expand its manufacturing capacity next year to meet expected demand for Cummins’ upcoming X15N natural gas fueled engine, an executive said March 4.

Cummins Inc. executives recently detailed the plans for the company’s updated X15 engine platform, including how the so-called HELM fuel-agnostic architecture got its name.

A December settlement between Cummins Inc. and the federal government pushed the engine and component manufacturer’s results into the red in the fourth quarter of 2023, it said Feb. 6.

Accelera by Cummins, Daimler Trucks & Buses US Holding and Paccar Inc. on Jan. 18 selected Marshall County, Miss., as the manufacturing site for their planned battery cell joint venture.

Cummins Inc. plans to spend $580 million on its Rocky Mount Engine Plant in North Carolina, much of it as part of the company’s decarbonization push, it said.

Cummins agreed to pay a $2 billion penalty as part of a Department of Justice investigation that determined devices that bypassed emissions sensors had been installed on Cummins engines.
