The Grand Champion of the Texas Truck Driving Championships, Brent Dotts, is no stranger to competition.

For the second year in a row, Ritch Fundell had a grand old time at the Illinois Truck Driving Championships. Fundell, a 3-Axle ace with FedEx Freight, conquered the Pheasant Run Resort course in St. Charles on June 7-8 to earn his second straight trip to the National Truck Driving Championships.

The unexpected was the norm at the Utah Truck Driving Championships. Defending Grand Champion Russell Atkin finished fifth in the Tank Trunk division, and rookie William Plevney took first place in the 5-Axle. When the dust settled, FedEx Freight driver Steven Clark was the 2019 Grand Champion after besting his closest challenger by 62 points in the 3-Axle class.

FedEx Freight driver Troy Swenson won the Sleeper class championship at the 2009 National Truck Driving Championships in Pittsburgh. He hasn’t been back to the Steel City since — but that’s about to change.
