Schneider Completes First EV Delivery for Frito-Lay
Emissions Reduction of 70% Is Estimated From Routes

, the multimodal transportation provider announced April 17.
An emissions reduction of more than 70% is estimated from the EV routes. noted the initial shipment marked the first contracted transport on its fleet of electric Freightliner eCascadia trucks. It was also the first third-party battery-electric vehicle shipment for parent company globally.
鈥淎s we roll out our fleet of almost 100 new battery-electric trucks, we鈥檙e thrilled to offer a cleaner mode of freight transportation to valued customers like Frito-Lay,鈥 said. 鈥淔or decades, we have been committed to improving sustainability at Schneider, and we鈥檙e proud to now be able to positively impact our customers鈥 operations as well.鈥
Schneider said in the announcement the initial shipments will be intermodal inbound and outbound dray moves in southern California. They will include service to Frito-Lay鈥檚 Rancho Cucamonga distribution center. Schneider plans to have 92 eCascadias in its southern California intermodal operations by the end of 2023.
