Four national trucking companies have agreed to participate in what is believed to be the first comprehensive study into the impact of diesel exhaust emissions on the health of truck drivers.

The proposed sulfur standard in diesel fuel for trucks and buses has not generated a groundswell of controversy and appears to be headed for adoption by the Environmental Protection Agency before year’s end.

Truckers who will be on the road on election day Nov. 7 may still vote through the help of a Web site developed by the owner of a popular New Jersey truck stop.
