Yellow Corp. Announces Second Round of Layoffs
The company said Feb. 12 it has placed an additional 160 salaried employees on layoff status. The first round of cuts took place a month before that and affected 75 people.
Of the 235 people let go, most worked for Yellow Freight System, the corporation’s flagship less-than-truckload carrier. According to spokesman Roger Dick, a smaller number worked for either Yellow Technologies or the parent holding company.
Yellow has about 7,000 full-time, non-union salaried employees around the nation. The cumulative total dismissed amounts to 3.4% of that.
