Worldwide Express, a reseller of express shipping for UPS Inc. and other freight carriers, said it has hired Joel Clum to be senior vice president of franchise operations.

Clum was president of CarrierDirect, a Chicago-based firm that provides research and strategic consulting services for freight carriers and logistics firms.

Tom Madine,��CEO of Worldwide Express, said Clum “will be an important piece to get us to where we’re headed as a company.”

CarrierDirect founder and��CEO Jett McCandless said he expects to continue working with Worldwide Express as that company expands into the freight industry.

Worldwide Express, based in Dallas,��ranks No. 7 on Transport Topics’ Top Freight Brokerage Firms list.
