Payment processing provider Wex has launched fleet card payments for electric vehicle charging at private sites.

The new feature, known as Wex EV Depot, enables secure and frictionless charging at private chargers when using the Wex Fleet Card.

With this additional capability, Wex's comprehensive charging platform now offers EV charging payments across depot, public and at-home charging locations.

Carlos Carriedo, chief operating officer for Americas payments and mobility at Wex, said the company’s EV charging payment system is designed to help fleet customers navigate the complexity of infrastructure rollouts.

“As fleet managers shift from internal combustion engines to EVs, they face the challenge of consolidating data across different types of chargers and fueling stations for operational efficiency,” Carriedo said.

Wex EV Depot is available for an additional subscription fee to customers using the existing Wex “En Route” solution for public EV charging.

The feature also connects with insights from Sawatch Labs, a Wex company, to help fleets determine the best places to install depot charging based on their operational data while also helping them maximize the return on investment for their charging infrastructure.
