Trucking Veteran Makes Hiner His First Acquisition

Trucking industry veteran Paul James has purchased Hiner Transport of Huntington, Ind., from company founders °®¶¹´«Ã½r and Marge Hiner for an undisclosed amount.

James, a former operations executive with J.B. Hunt Transport Services and former president of Burlington Motor Carriers, formed a holding company called Service First Corp. to make what is expected to be the first of several acquisitions.

Hiner is a profitable dry van truckload fleet with 130 tractors and 330 trailers. It generated annual revenue of $16 million in 1998.
