Pilot Flying J said it has had paid back about 95% of its customers in its ongoing fuel-rebate legal case.

As of the end of the year, Pilot had paid back any 鈥減otential discrepancy found by our internal auditors plus 6% interest,鈥 the truck-stop chain said in a Jan. 15 statement

A federal judge in Arkansas approved an $84.9 million settlement in November, calling for Pilot to reimburse 5,500 customers who alleged that it shortchanged them on diesel fuel rebates dating to 2005.

Pilot said its auditors are continuing to evaluate accounts and that it 鈥渋s committed to providing its customers with access to their audit results, to answer their questions and help ensure [they] feel comfortable with Pilot Flying J鈥檚 audit and repayment.鈥

Customers can have a third-party independent auditor review their records at no cost, Pilot said, adding that it is continuing to cooperate with the case鈥檚 independent special investigator.
