Fleet telematics provider PeopleNet has added an integration with a tire-pressure monitoring system from Wabco.

Wabco’s Integrated Vehicle Tire Monitoring system uses wheel-mounted sensors to alert drivers to tire-pressure changes, enabling them to proactively address any problems and reduce tire failure.

The system also can help fleets extend tire life by up to 20% and reduce fuel consumption by 2%, the companies said in��an announcement.

“Working with Wabco gives our customers more choice when they are looking to add a tire-pressure monitoring solution,” said Tom Fansler, executive vice president at PeopleNet.

Jon Morrison, Wabco president for the Americas, said the integration provides transportation companies with “vital information to streamline operations and help keep drivers safe.”
