A. Maurice Myers
Three years after joining Yellow Corp., and turning around the Overland Park, Kan., carrier’s balance sheet, Myers last week announced his immediate departure for the greener pastures of the trash-hauling industry. His arrival at Yellow came on the heels of a dramatic turnaround he engineered at America West Airlines.
On Nov. 9, Myers was named chairman and chief executive officer of Waste Management Inc., the nation’s largest trash-hauling business.
Yellow’s board voted to replace Myers with a familiar face, William D. Zollars, president of the company’s flagship trucking company, Yellow Freight System.
