MGN Logistics expanded its freight management business with the acquisition of asset-based expedited logistics brokerage company Fast Service, the Jan. 5.
The Easton, Pa.-based transportation management, logistics and technology provider said the acquisition — its ninth self-funded deal — is the latest strategic addition in a series of growth initiatives. MGN’s aim is to expand its freight management business and accelerate adoption of its proprietary technology platform, the MyMGN Marketplace.
“This acquisition is about control, speed and scale,” MGN CEO Matthew Telesca said. “We’re pairing real assets with AI-driven decisioning to build a freight platform that performs when the market is stressed and wins when it’s growing.”
Fast Service brings more than 80 dedicated drivers, a specialized expedited cargo van network and access to a private and vetted network of full truckload providers. MGN said the acquisition also further accelerates its technology road map, including advanced AI initiatives, by embedding asset-based expedited capacity directly into the MyMGN Marketplace.
“AI without assets is theory. Assets without AI are inefficient,” Telesca said. “We’re building the rare combination of AI-driven decisioning and asset-backed execution. That’s the type of platform customers rely on — and competitors struggle to replicate.”
