Freightliner Recalls 133,000 Work Trucks
Dan Lang
| Staff ReporterThe Portland, Ore., truck maker announced the recall of 133,000 Business Class trucks Nov. 2, after NTSB Chairman James Hall said a faulty brake pin was the cause of a dump truck losing its primary braking capability in an accident that killed two people in Lincoln, Neb.
The recall does not involve over-the-road power units for tractor-trailers or school buses. Nor does it involve Freightliner’s subsidiaries Sterling Truck Co., Western Star and American LaFrance, which makes fire trucks.
