FourKites has announced a partnership with 3GTMS, a provider of Tier 1 transportation management software, to create a platform designed for enhanced shipping.

The platform, which delivers real-time tracking to 3GTMS customers, already has been adopted by mutual customer REO Logistics, the first to use the integrated solution, according to FourKites.

By incorporating FourKites’ technology into its software, 3GTMS can provide clients the ability to track a shipment in real time, offering full visibility and a more accurate estimated time of arrival. The software also touts a predictive weather feature as well as traffic impacts on delivery times.

Additionally, FourKites’ technology culls shipment status information and locations from more than 4 million GPS/ELD tracking devices and driver cellphones — all in real time.

FourKites was founded in 2014 with the aim of building software “to modernize information sharing in the $900 billion (and growing) logistics industry,” the company says on its website.
