Food Haulers Develop Software to Thwart Terror Threats
ANAHEIM, Calif. — An official with the Agricultural and Food Transporters Council said the group had developed a new computer program that would encourage trucking to better protect itself from the threat of terrorist attacks.
In a separate initiative, Stephen Campbell, executive director of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, said he was working with the Transportation Security Administration to develop a law enforcement training plan that would help officials identify and react to threats.
Fletcher Hall, AFTC’s executive director, said many trucking companies and communities may not see terrorism as a threat any more because the country has not been attacked in four years.
