Motor carriers and drivers providing emergency in areas affected by Hurricane Gustav will be relieved federal hours-of-service regulations, the Federal Motor Carrier Administration said.

The exemptions are regardless of the commodity carried, FMCSA said in a statement.

They run in Louisiana and Texas through Sept. 26, in Alabama through Sept. 28, and in Mississippi through Sept. 30.
