Peter Rose, CEO of Expeditors International of Washington Inc., will retire in March after 35 years with the company, he announced in an Oct. 8 statement.
Rose helpedÌıstartÌıthe logistics company in 1981 and became its CEO seven years later, Expeditors said. He is also the company’s chairman, a position he’ll keep until May 2015 to help the transition process for the new CEO.
“I have been blessed and honored to have worked with such a great group of people, customers and carriers at Expeditors since 1981,†Rose said in the statement. “I look forward to working with the board of directors with our transition to a new CEO, who will be selected from a slate of well-qualified and experienced internal candidates.â€
Expeditors, based in Seattle, is ranked No. 14 on the Transport Topics Top 50 list of largest logistics companies in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
