Durable goods orders were little changed in October, the Commerce Department said Tuesday.
Bookings for non-defense capital equipment, excluding aircraft, rose 1.7%, the most since May, Bloomberg reported.
Economists had forecast a 0.7% drop in overall durable goods orders, Bloomberg said.
Durable goods include large items such as refrigerators and air conditioners. Trucking is a major beneficiary of durable goods manufacturing, hauling both components and finished goods.
