DOT Will Pressure States to Tighten Up on CDLs

Coupled with a recent proposal to disqualify truckers for convictions of serious moving violations while driving their personal cars, this rule would require states to make information about violations available to trucking managers and law enforcement officers more quickly.
The proposal, which FMCSA staff said should be ready within weeks, would withhold federal funds from states that don’t comply with uniform CDL requirements.
