| Staff ReporterDOT Extends Nafta Invitation
The Department of Transportation is inviting non-governmental organizations to attend a North American Free Trade Agreement meeting to be held in San Juan del Rio, Mexico, Oct. 23-27.
The two committees will include transportation officials from the governments of the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Industry participants and interested parties will be able to listen to Nafta’s Land Transportation Standards Subcommittee and Transportation Consultative Group debate of cross-border trade issues.
This seventh annual meeting of the three Nafta partners will focus on safety, size and weight and other cross-border issues trade. One of the main topics of discussion will be the safety and enforcement problems that have been blocking the opening the U.S.-Mexico border for trucking.
