Diesel Price Nudges Up 1.9¢ to $3.758 a Gallon

The national average diesel price ticked up for the second straight week, rising 1.9 cents a gallon to $3.758, according to data released July 15.
The increase is the third in four weeks. A big 20.4-cent spike June 23 was followed by a 4.8-cent slide a week later before a 1.2-cent bump up July 8.
The price for a gallon of trucking’s main fuel is still lower than at this time in 2024, standing at 6.8 cents less.

Regional Trends
The average price for a gallon of diesel bumped up in all but one region, the Midwest, where it remained the same from a week ago. The Rocky Mountain region saw the biggest increase at 4.8 cents, while the Gulf Coast region experienced the smallest jump at 2 cents. The cost of diesel along the East Coast rose 2.8 cents, with each of its three subregions seeing small or modest increases.

Gasoline Update
The national average price for a gallon of gasoline increased by a half-cent to $3.13 a gallon. Most of that was driven by gains of 5.2 cents and 5.3 cents, respectively, in the Midwest and Gulf Coast regions. The price of gas ticked down in all other areas of the country. Gas costs 36.6 cents less than at this time a year ago.
