The national average diesel price ticked down 1.7 cents a gallon to $3.497, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration data released May 6.

Regional Trends
Diesel’s average price fell in all five PADD districts, with the biggest drop coming in at 2.4 cents in the Midwest. Including subregions, the West Coast less California experienced the steepest decline at 2.7 cents.
