Delphi Automotive asked shareholders to approve changing the name of the company to Aptiv.
A shareholders meeting is scheduled for Nov. 7 in Troy, Mich.
“The vehicle has evolved and so have we,” Delphi CEO Kevin Clark wrote in a letter to shareholders.
“We believe that changing our name to Aptiv will better recognize our position as a global technology leader, enabling advancements in vehicle connectivity, active safety, infotainment, user experience, vehicle electrification, autonomous driving and data services,” Clark said.
