Christmas/New Year’s Traffic to Increase 3.8%, AAA Says
Americans’ automobile travel of more than 50 miles from home will increase during the end-of-year holiday season by 3.8% over last year, the motorists’ group AAA said.
Overall automobile traffic will increase 4.4% compared with last year, AAA said. The number of air travelers will increase 2.9%, while those traveling by other means will fall 3.3%.
The number of automobile travelers driving more than 50 miles will be 87.7 million, compared with 84.5 million last year. The increase will be the largest increase for a major holiday this year.
