American Trucking Associations will keep fighting the Oct. 1 federal deadline for new trucks to use reduced-emissions diesel engines, but will also educate policymakers about future regulatory deadlines, ATA President William J. Canary said.

鈥淥ctober is our immediate focus,鈥 Canary said, but 鈥渨hatever happens in October, we鈥檙e not going away, and this issue is not going away.鈥

Canary made the remarks in an Aug. 17 interview with Transport Topics at ATA鈥檚 National Truck Driving Championships in Milwaukee.
