Another Canadian transportation firm is stepping up its acquisition program.
TCT Logistics agreed to purchase Tri-Line Expressways of Calgary for C$44 million from Tri-White Corp., owner of the White Pass & Yukon Route Railway.
In addition, the Calgary-based trucking and distribution specialist announced plans to buy assets of Kleysen Transport, a refrigerated and dry-van truckload carrier based in Winnipeg, for about C$18 million in cash, stock and debt.
The addition of Tri-Line and Kleysen will add C$135 million and C$40 million, respectively, to TCT’s annual sales, making it one of Canada’s largest trucking companies, with annual revenue of between C$360 million and C$400 million.
