ATA Sees Judicial Elections as Step to Tort Reform

Limiting plaintiffs' awards and rights to sue through a variety of measures known as "tort reform" has been high on American Trucking Associations' political agenda. ATA has said that high civil damage awards are a major reason for the rising insurance premiums that most trucking companies face.
"We could not have been happier with the outcomes," said Richard Holcomb, ATA's general counsel.
