ATA Calls on FMCSA to Release Study Used for CSA Scoring
American Trucking Associations on Tuesday asked the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to release a study that was used to develop the scoring system for its Compliance, Safety, Accountability program.
ATA said the study, which deals with the connection between violations and crash risk, was cited by FMCSA听as a component in the development of the severity weights for various violations under CSA.
鈥淎s a regulated industry, trucking has a right and a need to know how the system we operate under was crafted,鈥 ATA President and CEO Bill Graves said in a statement. 鈥淔MCSA has an obligation to release this study so that the industry, and other stakeholders, may evaluate CSA and offer substantive proposals to improve it.鈥
