A U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Del., has approved the sale of most of Allied Systems Holdings’ operating assets to Jack Cooper Transport Co. as part of a $135 million deal that would consolidate the carhaul sector of trucking.

Orders for Class 8 trucks increased 20% in August from a year prior and were at their highest level in three months, ACT Research said Sept. 5.

Used Class 8 truck sales declined in December from a year earlier as vehicle prices increased and average mileage trickled lower, according to ACT Research.
