Success NationaLease is a Kansas City, Kan.-based leasing and logistics company founded in 1960 by Hanan Wedlan. With the deal, TCI added in excess of 450 trucks and three facilities to its network.

Commerce, Calif.-based TCI ranks No. 84 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America and No. 33 among less-than-truckload carriers and No. 35 in the truckload/dedicated segment.

“Success NationaLease shares many of our core values and approaches to customer service,” said Andrew Flynn, co-president of TCI. “When two family-owned companies with similar values come together, it creates stability, strengthens employee loyalty and ensures we continue to deliver exceptional service.”

The deal is set to expand TCI’s operations in Kansas and Texas.

TCI said it had been drawn to Success’ commitment to the “Cowboy Code of the West” — principles such as taking pride in your work, keeping promises and putting people first.

“What excites me most is the opportunity for shared growth. We’ll adopt some of Success’ best practices while bringing in our own strengths, and customers can expect the same outstanding service with expanded resources,” Flynn added.

Before the acquisition, TCI had 1,300 drivers and 2,300 power units, a representative said. In total, the company will have a combined 1,900 employees after the deal.

TCI offers full-service leasing, rentals, dedicated logistics, brokerage and used truck sales.
