The leadership of the Truckload Carriers Association is expected to overwhelmingly sign off on a plan June 20 that calls for the group and its members to pay American Trucking Associations a monthly fee instead of requiring its members to join the federation.

The plan is designed to illustrate TCA鈥檚 desire to remain affiliated with ATA, but without forcing truckload carriers to join the larger trucking group.
鈥淎TA鈥檚 strategic plan was too big. It tried to do too much at once,鈥 TCA Chairman Robert Hansen said in a June 14 interview.
鈥淭his proposal opens the door to getting TCA members to join ATA. This is the way to get it started,鈥 said Hansen who is also president of Gale Force Inc., Janesville, Wis.
