Transportation and third-party logistics firm Pacer International said Thursday it has completed the sale of its specialized heavy-haul trucking operation to subsidiaries of Universal Truckload Services.
The $2 million deal, first announced late last month, included property and equipment leases and certain customer, agent and other contracts, Concord, Calif.-based Pacer said in a statement.
The assets will be folded into Universal’s Am-Can unit.
Pacer International, which also runs intermodal, less-than-truckload and warehousing operations, is ranked No. 16 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers. Universal Truckload is ranked No. 39.
