Mack Defense Moves Ahead With Military Contract
JWF Defense Systems will provide the armored cab system for the M917A3 Heavy Dump Truck contract the U.S. Army awarded to Mack Defense, a unit of Volvo Group.

JWFDS will be responsible for fabricating and painting the complete armored cab system, which will then be installed by Mack Defense, which was awarded the contract in May 2018. It will provide up to 683 heavy dump trucks.
Mack’s winning bid was based on the Allentown, Pa., company’s commercially available Mack Granite axle forward model. A key differentiator between the commercial offering and the heavy dump truck is the latter requiring a force-protection capability.
