FedEx Introduces Package Dropoff, Pickup at Walgreens

FedExcustomers will be able to drop off and pick up packages at “thousands of Walgreens” locations nationwide, the shipping giant said Jan. 11.
FedEx Corp. ranks No. 2 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
The initial, "small-scale" rollout will be done this spring, with stores added in the coming months, Walgreens said in a statement. Walgreens, based in Deerfield, Illinois, plans to make the program available at nearly 8,000 stores by the fall of 2018.
The “long-term” agreement was struck after FedEx conducted research that showed customers rank pharmacies as “a preferred location for accessing their e-commerce shipments,” Raj Subramaniam, FedEx chief marketing and communications officer, said in a statement.
Financial terms of the alliance weren't disclosed.
