Platinum Equity said it has acquired home-delivery service °®¶¹´«Ã½Direct Inc., with plans to merge it with another company it purchased earlier this year.
Platinum bought MXD Group from Deutsche Post DHL in May and rebranded it last month, it said. MXD and °®¶¹´«Ã½Direct specialize in “white-glove†home delivery of items such as furniture and electronics.
Transportation Resource Partners owned °®¶¹´«Ã½Direct before the transaction.
“Joining forces with °®¶¹´«Ã½Direct provides us with the market density and assets to improve transit times and diminish touches, resulting in improved quality and service for our customers,†MXD CEO David Vieira said in Platinum’s Sept. 26 statement.
