Echo Global Expands Network With FreightSaver Acquisition

The Chicago-based transportation and supply chain management provider said the acquisition will integrate FreightSaver’s operations in Huntington Beach, Calif.; Park City, Utah; Rochester, Mich.; Columbus, Ohio; and Temecula, Calif. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The deal is part of Echo’s ongoing strategy to scale its managed transportation business through targeted acquisitions, adding both operational capacity and regional coverage. FreightSaver’s leadership team and technology platform will be absorbed into Echo’s existing operations.
“FreightSaver has built a customer-centric, tech-enabled business that complements our strengths and accelerates our ability to deliver value through managed transportation,” said Echo CEO Doug Waggoner.
Founded in 2014 by Ryan Renne and Buster Schwab, FreightSaver provides full truckload, less-than-truckload, expedited, specialized freight and managed transportation services. The company has appeared on the Inc. 500 list for rapid growth.
Echo President and Chief Operating Officer Dave Menzel said FreightSaver’s “reputation for hustle, transparency and responsiveness” reflects Echo’s operational priorities.
FreightSaver’s founders said the acquisition provides access to greater resources and scale.
“Joining Echo is a natural next step in FreightSaver’s journey,” Renne said. Schwab added that the combined company is “positioned to deliver smarter logistics with a powerful combination of people and technology.”
Echo Global Logistics operates more than 60 locations in North America, offering freight brokerage and managed transportation solutions across all major modes, including truckload, partial truckload, intermodal and temperature-controlled shipping.
The company ranks No. 21 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest logistics companies in North America.
