The national average pump price of diesel fuel fell 1.3 cents to $3.035 a gallon, the Department of Energy said Tuesday.
Diesel last fell half a cent on Aug. 27.
The latest price left trucking’s main fuel 52.9 cents over the same week last year, according to DOE figures.
Meanwhile, regular gasoline declined 1.8 cents to $2.77 a gallon, DOE said. Gas had fallen by 2.4 cents last week.
Each week, DOE surveys about 350 diesel filling stations to compile a national snapshot average price.
