Con-way Freight said Monday it is investing $10 million to expand its San Antonio service center into a new, 105-door, 41,500 square foot facility.
The $10 million investment, which will add about 50 jobs, will replace an existing 48-door center where Con-way has been operating for more than 20 years, the company said.
It connects San Antonio with one-, two- and three-day service points in Con-way’s nationwide network and serves as a gateway for goods to and from Mexico.
The new center will open with 105 dock doors initially but could later expand to 160 doors, Con-way said.
Con-way Freight is the less-than-truckload unit and biggest subsidiary of Con-way Inc., ranked No. 6 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
